After a couple of nice and dry weekend days, it looks like we are going back to a stormy pattern this coming Monday through Friday or Saturday. Most of the storms will probably come while you are sleeping, the kind that wake you up around 2 or 3 in the morning. Hopefully the storms won't be severe, but we could get a couple of MCS's come through with damaging winds and a quick 2-3 inches of rain in an hour. An MCS is a long line of thunderstorms that can stretch almost 300 miles long and can contain high winds and very heavy rain. They usually start as a few stray storms in Colorado and western Kansas on a hot summer afternoon, then merge into a solid line of storms and move southeastward. They are at their peak during the nighttime hours.

Question.......what does MCS stand for?
